Brian Yegge is a seasoned Technology Analyst at The University of Texas Health Science Center Houston UTHealth, where he has dedicated nearly 17 years to enhancing the technological capabilities of the institution. In his role, Brian assists medical students, faculty, physicians, and clinical staff with their technology needs and challenges. He brings extensive knowledge of Apple products into an environment predominantly experienced with Linux and Microsoft Windows systems, effectively bridging technological gaps. His expertise with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems further supports the critical operations within UTHealth’s healthcare education and delivery.
From the young age of 10, Brian cultivated a passion for music, learning the guitar and developing an obsession with professional audio recording and production. Before founding Angershade, he published music under his surname “Yegge” and played in the garage band Risen during his high school and early college years. After a hiatus of about 11 years, he joined Primary, where his approach to playing bass guitar evolved significantly. Transitioning from fingerstyle to using a pick to adapt to the band’s style, this technique has since become his preferred method.
In 2008, following the conclusion of Primary, Brian returned to his solo efforts and established Angershade on September 15. ERA 1 of Angershade began with the release of the track “Glock” on June 13, 2015. ERA 2 was marked by the EP “Arete” released on December 5, 2019, and was followed by companion releases “The Hex Sessions”, “The Envy Sessions”, and “The Isolation Sessions”. The remastered version of “Arete” was released on vinyl and CD on October 11, 2023, with streaming availability starting November 17. A silent re-release of “The Isolation Sessions Remastered” in September signified the end of ERA 2 and the beginning of ERA 3. Fans can anticipate an entirely new set of tracks with no repeats, remixes, or remasters from previous eras. There is even the possibility of a new name and brand, as Brian contemplates the future direction of his music.
An alumnus of the Berklee College of Music, Brian majored in Production & Engineering with a minor in Music Business. His principal instrument is the bass guitar, and while he performs all instruments for Angershade, he feels most natural playing bass live. His musical journey includes contributions to bands like Deadbolt Zen, and he is currently forming a new band with two other musicians, including a former member of both Primary and Deadbolt Zen. This project has been in development for about three years and is expected to reveal itself around 2025. While details about the genre and style are being kept under wraps, the group is committed to delivering perfection before making their debut.

Beyond music, Brian has a passion for photography, specifically model photography. From late 2017 until late 2022, he actively engaged in this hobby, drawn by his appreciation for beauty. However, he chose to step back from the broader industry due to its toxic nature and to refocus on his music. He continues to work discreetly with a select group of five trusted models, occasionally sharing his work on social media and his public Lightroom Gallery. This shift has been well-received by his music fans, who appreciate his renewed focus on his artistic endeavors. Read statement here
Balancing a professional career, artistic pursuits, and family life, Brian emphasizes the importance of not rushing the creative process. He rides the waves of inspiration when they come and shifts focus when they wane, allowing his creativity to flow naturally. His role at UTHealth funds his passions for music and photography, enabling him to fully invest in his interests.
As a proud father of three grown daughters—one residing out of state and two living nearby—Brian cherishes the times they come together. Soon to welcome a granddaughter into the family, he is committed to maintaining his health and embracing this new chapter in life. Despite getting older, he notes with a smile that he doesn’t quite look his age, a testament to his vibrant lifestyle and positive outlook.
